How this calculator works

Hourly pay is the annual salary divided by the hours you are paid for in a year (hours per week × paid weeks). Weekly, biweekly and monthly figures divide the annual amount by 52, 26 and 12. A full-time year at 40 hours and 52 weeks is 2,080 hours.

Hourly = Annual ÷ (Hours per week × Paid weeks) Annual = Hourly × Hours per week × Paid weeks

Worked example

Using the default values in the calculator above:

ResultValue
Hourly wage$28.85
Monthly$5,000

Weekly$1,153.85
Daily (5-day week)$230.77
Annual salary$60,000
Paid hours per year2,080 hours

Step by step:

  1. Paid hours per year = 40 × 52 = 2,080
